Why are some water filtration systems not available for sale in California?
I was researching different home/under sink/counter top water filtration systems and kept coming across "Not available for sale in California." Now, I don’t live there, but I was wondering why some can’t be sold there?

It has something to do with taxes and licensing. If the maufacturer does pay for the sales license then they can’t sell it in that state. You can however purchase else where and istall it yourself.You just can’t have it mailed in or shipped in.
California has tight requirements in what a R/O filter must remove, and how efficient it has to be.
California also requires extremely efficient water softeners.
