Most aggressive pitcher water filter?

I’m looking for a pitcher water filter that will filter out the most contaminants possible. I was looking to purchase an Aquasana countertop filter for my apartment kitchen sink, but the ridiculous faucet/sprayer combo that’s on it won’t take a countertop filter. I don’t want to install an under-sink model, because it’s an apartment and I’m not interested in making that investment for something I move out of.

I’m skeptical of the Brita and PUR pitchers, they don’t seem to do much except improve taste. I’m not worried about taste – my water tastes fine – but our city water tests poorly (high levels of chlorine, higher levels of pharmaceuticals and medicines, high in metals).

Any suggestions? It’s hard to find unbiased review just looking through websites…

How to Change Your Aquasana Filter

Kevin from taichibozeman.com/rawfoodblog shows how to change your aquasana water filter. We made no money from aquasana in recommending their product. Why do I need to filter my water? The human body is 60 – 80% water. Every five to 10 days we need to replace all of our body’s water to keep functioning smoothly, efficiently and to maintain good health. It is important to replenish our bodies water with clean, pure, filtered water. Our filters are long-lasting, reliable, and provide water filtered down to 1 micron (a human hair is about 100 microns) to prevent long-term health risks due to gradual buildup of toxins, heavy metals, chemicals and chlorine. Most municipal water systems are chlorinated to kill bacteria and viruses. However, the chlorine can form carcinogenic compounds, such as trihalomethanes and chloroform. Also, this water still has to travel through miles of pipes before it enters your home. The pipes are usually not clean and contain heavy metals from solder joints, fixtures, etc. The only way to ensure that your drinking water is free of contaminants is to filter it yourself in your home or office. What can I do to improve the safety of the water in my home? You can install a home water filter. One of the easiest and most effective filtration devices is a system that treats water at a single point of use for drinking, cooking and watering plants. This can easily be installed as a countertop unit, or an undercounter unit with a separate faucet. It is also

What could be irritating my skin?

I’ve had painful skin irritation for a while now. It’s sort of a bunch of small stinging/burning sensations all over my body. It’s often worst right after I shower and put my clothes on. I think it’s something in the water, but my new Aquasana shower filter (that’s supposed to filter out chlorine, VOCs, THMs, and balance the water) isn’t helping much. Even if I wash my clothes in the tub and air dry them, it’s still irritating my skin. What could be causing this, and is there a solution? I’m feeling really desperate and would love any suggestions.
I can’t believe I was so stupid, I forgot to mention I wash my clothes with only baking soda and vinegar. My soap is an all natural olive oil soap. None of these bother me, I’ve tested them.

Whole house water filter suggestions?

I am looking for a water filter for my entire home.

I would like to have chlorine removed as well as bacteria and chemicals and pharmaceuticals (if possible). I would also like the water to be alkalinized at some point after the filtering.

The aquasana looks okay but I think it only removes chlorine, and I dont see anything on here that says reverse osmosis. Im really not even sure what I should be looking for, for a reasonable price.

Can anyone help?

when making bottles, should I use tap water or Culligan water?

I have city water, it smells like chlorine somewhat so we have never drank it.. I also have a big water dispenser in which I take two 5 gallon jugs and get them refilled with Culligan water. Is it better for me to use tap water when preparing my 9 month old’s bottles because it has floride in it, or should I keep using the Culligan water?

do you like Aquasana shower filters ?

are you happy with the product ?

I recently found out most states have started using chloramine instead of chlorine which the shower filter cannot remove . I am not sure I want to get it unless it removes other things besides chlorine like lead.
